PARK SPA, AQUARIUS THERMAL SPA AND LAKE

There is a natural beach on the lake. The north side of the lake is available only for boating, and the south offers the beach.

The shore of the southern part of the lake is covered with the silky sand of the Tisza River, and in 1930 a wooden beach house was built which is the copy of the famous Balatonfüred beach house. On the 2000 m2 plage there is a 34 oC thermal spa, and a children’s pool with a mushroom and a slide. There are restaurants, bars, volleyball pit, water slide are waiting for the visitors. The healing power of the lake’s water has been well known long ago, and at the end of the 1950’s the evolving spa culture was at the level that the lake couldn’t satisfy the needs of the population anymore. That’s when the underground thermal water was discovered; 49-50 oC hot iodine-bromine water welled up from the ground.

This water was the basis of the Park Spa which means relief and recreation for many people. The pools in the area of the Park Spa are suitable for all ages, to entertainment or sports – there is a 50m swimming pool (26-27 oC), a thermal pool (32-34 oC), a children’s pool (32-34 oC), a recreation pool (36-38 oC), a cold water Italian pool (26-28 oC), a teaching pool with thermal water (32 oC), a Jacuzzi and a lazy river pool. The newest attraction in Sóstógyógyfürdő is the Aquarius Thermal Spa. It was built in 2005 in the Park Spa on a 1.7acre large area. The spa complex is open all year offering preventive, wellness and health services for the guests. Adults and elderly people can relax and regenerate while using the spa facilities. There are indoor and outdoor pools available with neck shower, hot beds and back massager. Younger guests are welcome to the water world with wave pool, water curtain, lazy river pool with cave, and a variety of water slides. There are pools, slides, Inca temple, Treasure Island and other adventures for the smallest children in their fabulous dreamland.
